About

The Third-Generation Glove ControllerEngineered Beyond Precision and Comfort

ContactGlove3 is the third generation of the ContactGlove series—the world's first consumer hand-tracking glove and a CES Innovation Award winner. Its newly developed Zero-Drift™ Technology measures the absolute position of all five fingers in six degrees of freedom (6DOF) with no drift, faithfully reproducing every motion—including how far your fingers spread—with a relative position error of 0.5mm (max 1.5mm) and an angular error of 0.4° (max 1°), enabling more delicate and detailed hand expression than ever before. It features a comfortable open-finger design, and the dedicated Magnetra3 controller module now comes as standard. ContactGlove3 is a new-concept interface that renews precision, comfort, and extensibility across the board compared to its predecessor.

Features

Absolute Position TrackingPowered by the New Zero-Drift™ Technology

ContactGlove3 adopts our proprietary Zero-Drift™ Technology, in which sensors read the transmitter's magnetic field to directly measure absolute position. It tracks all five fingers in six degrees of freedom (6DOF) with a relative position error of 0.5mm (max 1.5mm) and an angular error of 0.4° (max 1°). Because it doesn't rely on accumulating motion, errors never build up and the position stays accurate even during extended use.A one-time-only calibration is all it needs—no further setup afterward. *Relative position and angular errors are values measured using our own method under recommended conditions.

Intuitive Control Powered by theDedicated Magnetra3 Controller Module

Magnetra3 carries forward the refinements of previous models—such as an improved button layout and mounting method—while adding a brand-new grip-lock button.

Previously, grip actions were determined solely by hand shape (gestures), so even a slight change in hand shape mid-action could release the grip unintentionally. Magnetra3 introduces a new grip-lock button that physically locks the grip state at the press of a button. Because the grip stays engaged even as your hand shape changes, grabbing, holding, and throwing objects all become more reliable and intuitive.

As a result, Magnetra3 preserves hands-free immersion while delivering grab-and-grip stability that surpasses conventional VR controllers.

    Improved Wearability and Maintainability

We revisited the fabric's fit and durability—pain points of previous models—and redesigned the material and mounting structure so the gloves stay comfortable even during long sessions. They keep the structure that leaves the fingertips (first knuckle) exposed, so you can operate a keyboard and more while wearing them, and the fabric remains washable and replaceable.

For the thumb, which calls for a high degree of expressive freedom, a dedicated fingertip cap delivers high-precision tracking that faithfully reproduces even subtle thumb movements.

    Compatible with EverySteamVR Application

ContactGlove3 runs using the bindings of existing VR controllers, so it works not only with social VR apps like VRChat and NeosVR but with every application and game on SteamVR. Thanks to this compatibility, you can enjoy ContactGlove3 across a wide range of VR content with no special setup required.

FAQ

  • What's new compared to ContactGlove2?

    OpenClose
The biggest difference is high-precision absolute position tracking powered by the new Zero-Drift™ Technology: sensors read the transmitter's magnetic field to measure all five fingers in 6DOF with a relative position error of 0.5mm (max 1.5mm), an angular error of 0.4° (max 1°), and no drift. On top of that, an open-finger design that tracks finger spread and the now-standard Magnetra3 controller module renew precision, freedom, and extensibility.
  • Is the setup easy?

    OpenClose
Yes, it's simple. After a one-time calibration there's no further setup. The communication dongle comes with a bundled 1.2m extension cable and a magnet on the back, so you can place it wherever works best and get started right away.
  • How long does the battery last?

    OpenClose
Up to 10 hours of continuous use. A redesigned dongle and battery management keep the connection stable even during long sessions.
  • What can it be used for?

    OpenClose
It works for far more than VR/XR interaction—from motion capture to remote robot operation. Specifically, it supports hand and finger motion capture, real-time teleoperation teaching for humanoids, advanced skill training, simulation, and more. (Using the SDK requires ContactGlove3 Pro.)
  • What are the pricing and release dates?

    OpenClose
ContactGlove3 is ¥99,800 (tax incl.), with pre-orders opening June 23, 2026 and release scheduled for October 2026.
